New Milton Neighbourhood Plan

The New Milton Neighbourhood Plan has been submitted and has undergone a period of public consultation that concluded on 21 October 2019. It is now undergoing independent examination, in accordance with Regulations 16 and 17 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

The Examiner has written to New Milton Town Council and New Forest District Council (available below). He has not identified any obvious flaws that would lead him to advise that the examination should not proceed, and has set out a number of initial questions for the Town Council and District Council to answer.

The Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents are linked below and are also available on the New Milton Neighbourhood Plan website.

All of the comments received will be considered by David Hogger, the independent Examiner appointed by the planning authorities. If the Plan is supported by the Examiner (with any Modifications the examiner deems necessary), the final stage would be to hold a local referendum where the local community in New Milton will be asked whether they support the Neighbourhood Plan.
