| New Forest welcomes the Olympic Games |
As a replica of the 2012 Olympic host flag was raised at Lymington Health and Leisure on August 24, so too were the hopes of athletes from across the New Forest.
Aspiring Olympians and local sports clubs joined New Forest District Council Chairman Cllr Paul Woods, Vice Chairman Cllr Les Puttock and Deputy Leader Cllr Barry Rickman at the event, which celebrated the official handover of the Games to London.

Residents can now ensure that they will have the right to vote by making a simple telephone call or by logging on to the internet.
The annual canvass for the register of electors starts at the beginning of September. All homes in the district will receive a form showing who is registered at that property. If there are no changes to make, residents may telephone using a freephone facility or log on to the internet to confirm their registration.
