Council Tax Reduction Scheme for Low Income Households
The Council Tax Reduction scheme ensures that households on the lowest incomes have their bill reduced. From 1 April 2017, working age customers will have to pay a minimum contribution of 10% of their council tax charge.
In certain cases, pensioners and working age customers who receive certain state benefits due to their disabilities, are entitled to a 100% reduction and will not have to pay council tax.
