NEW FOREST DISTRICT COUNCIL

ROAD HUMPS IN HIGHTOWN ROAD, RINGWOOD

New Forest District Council, acting as agent to the Highway Authority, Hampshire County Council proposes introducing a traffic calming scheme as follows:-

EFFECT OF SCHEME: The provision of two raised table road humps and three raised junction tables

as follows:-

Hightown Road

Raised tables 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top. There will be slopes of 1.5 metres horizontally (1 in 20) on each side

The humps will be located -

i) Between a point 82 metres west of its junction with Eastfield Lane and a point 13 metres west

ii) Between a point 265 metres west of its junction with Eastfield Lane and a point 10 metres west

Hightown Road/Gardner Road Junction

Raised junction table 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top, for a distance of 30 metres in Hightown Road and extending 8 metres into Gardner Road, inclusive of slopes of

1.5 metres horizontally (1 in 20) on each side

Hightown Road/Brooks Close Junction

Raised junction table 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top, for a distance of 34 metres in Hightown Road and extending 8 metres into Brooks Close, inclusive of slopes of

1.5 metres horizontally (1 in 20) on each side

Hightown Road/Parsonage Barn Lane Junction

Raised junction table 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top, for a distance of 21 metres in Hightown Road and extending 8 metres into Parsonage Barn Lane, inclusive of slopes of

1.5 metres horizontally (1 in 20) on each side

FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this Notice and a plan showing the locations of the road humps may be inspected during the usual office hours at the following places, and on the Council's website www.newforest.gov.uk under "Transport and Streets" then "Traffic Management", then "Proposed Permanent or Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders advertised", from 26 September 2014

ii) Information Office, Ringwood Gateway, The Furlong, Ringwood

OBJECTIONS: All representations (whether in support or objection) in respect of this proposal must be sent in writing to the undersigned by 24 October 2014. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Representations received will be open for public inspection.
