ROAD HUMPS IN CALMORE ROAD AND MICHIGAN WAY, TOTTON

New Forest District Council, acting as agent to the Highway Authority, Hampshire County Council proposes introducing a traffic calming scheme as follows:-

EFFECT OF SCHEME: The provision of five road humps in Calmore Road and a raised table road hump at the junction of Calmore Road and Michigan Way as follows:-

Calmore Road

Raised tables 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top 6 metres in length. There will be slopes of 1.5 metres (1in 20) on both ramps.

Location i) The hump will be located between a point 92 metres south-east of its junction

with Calmore Drive and a point 9 metres south-east of that point.

Location ii) The hump will be located between a point 205 metres south-east of its junction with Calmore Drive and a point 9 metres south-east of that point.

Location iii) The hump will be located between a point 193 metres north-west of its junction with Michigan Way and a point 9 metres north-west of that point.

Location iv) The hump will be located between a point 96 metres north-west of its junction

with Michigan Way and a point 9 metres north-west of that point.

Location v) The hump will be located between a point 93 metres south-east of its junction

with Michigan Way and a point 9 metres south-east of that point.

Calmore Road/ Michigan Way

Calmore Road: A raised table 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top 29 metres in length. There will be slopes of 1.5 metres (1in 20) on both ramps.

Location:- The hump will be located between a point 11 metres north-west of its junction with Michigan Way and a point 32 metres south-east of that point.

Michigan Way: A raised table 75mm high across the full width of the carriageway with a flat top 10.5 metres in length. There will be a slope of 1.5 metres (1 in 20) and it will link with the hump in Calmore Road.

Location:- The hump will be located between its junction with Calmore Road and a point 12 metres south-west.

FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this Notice and a plan showing the location of the road humps may be inspected during the usual office hours at the following places, and on the Councils website www.newforest.gov.uk under 'Transport and Streets' then 'Traffic Management' then 'Proposed Permanent or Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders being advertised':-

i) New Forest District Council, Appletree Court, Lyndhurst

ii) New Forest District Council Information Office, Civic Centre, Totton

OBJECTIONS: All representations (whether in support or objection) in respect of this proposal must be sent in writing to the undersigned by 7th January 2014. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Representations received will be open for public inspection.
